In French, plique à jour translates to "letting in daylight." Once I saw out the design from a thick sheet of fine silver, I fill the open cells with transparent powdered glass (enamel) then fire the piece in the kiln. This creates a beautiful stained glass effect. These pendants glow with the sunlight creating a unique piece of wearable art.
